The new Star Wars™: Squadrons video game is described as an immersive, first-person, space dogfighting experience.

When reviewing the game Polygon said, “Star Wars: Squadrons is every inch the spaceflight simulation that fans have been dreaming of for a generation.”

Pick a side – Republic or Empire and join your squadron in 5v5 multiplayer starfighter combat. Its all set in a time just after the fall of Darth Vader in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™.

Players can choose between quick multiplayer battles, or play in story mode following an original Star Wars story. In story mode, players can still chose between being a fighter pilot for the Empire, or the Republic.

“As a lifelong Star Wars fan, it’s been an incredible journey to bring the space combat experience to life in a way that is true to the legacy of the franchise,” said Ian Frazier, Creative Director, Motive Studios.

“We’ve worked hand-in-hand with Lucasfilm to hone in on the pilot’s perspective, and match the aesthetic from the films to create an authentic Star Wars gameplay experience that will transport fans into the pilot’s seat.”

Players can opt from 4 the starfighter classes of Fighters, Bombers, Interceptors, and Support ships. This gives them total of 8 different craft to choose from.

To be a good pilot in this game, you’ll need to do more than just fly. You’ll need to strategically use the power management system to divert power to subsystems like engines, lasers or shields as needed.

Priced at $39.99, Star Wars: Squadrons is available for digital or in store purchase. It’s available across platforms via the EA Desktop App, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
