With the baseball season on hold last month, and kids cooped up because of the Corona Virus, the Seattle Mariners organization hosted a virtual summer camp experience at its home in T-Mobile stadium.

The experience, which started on July 20, was welcome news to fans, and T-Mobile customers, who were also happy to hear of the impending return of free MLB.TV as part of T-Mobile Tuesdays.

Although fans could not go to the stadium in person, the organization put together an interactive experience using a 360-degree HD livestream. Baseball fans were able to tune into the stream and enjoy some great inside views into Mariners practice sessions.

One camera angle provided a view direct from the pitcher’s mound where fans could watch their favorite players tuning up their swing at batting practice.

In another perspective, fans can get views of the stadium as if they were standing in the middle of the ball-field.

The wireless carrier took advantage pandemic situation by putting together the live stream as a way to promote their current 4G and rapidly deploying 5G wireless services.

According to the company, “The livestream puts fans right in the middle of the action, providing a glimpse of how wireless networks will transform sporting events in the future through new and immersive experiences.”

Interested fans can still access the livestream and replays on the Seattle Mariners YouTube channel.
