Contest Provides Small Businesses with Needed IT Makeovers
For many small businesses the added cost required to take advantage of improvements in technology can leave some of them at a disadvantage. To help level the playing field and give these businesses a leg up Intel and Insight Enterprises have teamed up to sponsor a $150,000 nationwide IT makeover contest.
Dubbed the ‘Connected Workplace Makeover Contest’, the event will eventually provide $50,000 worth of new Intel powered technology upgrades and services to three organizations.
“The lifeblood of any organization is its IT, especially in the current climate as every business has had to think more like a technology business and go more digital to connect with their workers and customers. Our past contest entries have struck similar notes of just how many companies contend with the drawbacks of outdated technology and how they’ve struggled to keep their heads above water because of it. The Connected Workplace Makeover Contest shows what new technology can do to help organizations run smarter,” said Brenda Hudson, vice president, inside sales, sales enablement, learning and development, Insight.
With an ever-increasing number of workers doing their jobs remotely, a sound IT infrastructure is more essential than ever. The more than 1300 companies that entered last year’s IT makeover contest provided likely proof that a lot of business see the advantage offered by upgrading their tech.
As with 2019, this year’s winners will be selected across three main categories – Productivity (outdated equipment), Security (vulnerabilities to breaches), and Total Cost of Ownership (hidden costs of declining performance, software/hardware incompatibility, lost productivity, worker frustration and security gaps).
