‘Mando Mondays’ promo begins ahead of ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Premier
Ahead of the premier of The Mandalorian season 2, Disney is unveiling a promotion they are calling “Mando Mondays” for fans of the series.
The Mando Mondays promotion begins on October 26 according to a press release. This is just a few days ahead of the Season 2 premier of ‘The Mandalorian’ on Disney+ on October 30.
So what exactly are Mando Mondays?
Mando Mondays provide a chance for fans of The Mandalorian to get some exclusive deals on loads of show related merchandise.
After the show airs on Fridays, fans can log on to MandoMondays.com – on the following Monday. There they will find new toys, collectibles, apparel, books, comics digital content available for purchase.
For its first season, The Mandalorian earned seven Primetime Emmy® awards. These awards were unveiled during last week’s awards ceremony.
What is The Mandalorian?
For those unfamiliar, The Mandalorian is a Disney+ series spin-off of the Star Wars movies. The show picks up years after the end of the last film. In this time, after the Empire has fallen, the series follows a bounty hunter – with a heart.
Perhaps the show’s biggest hit for many fans has been what most call “baby Yoda.” The character, referred to on-screen as ‘the child’, is based on an infant creature of the same race as the legendary namesake.
“When ‘The Mandalorian’ debuted last year on Disney+, the show became an instant phenomenon, with fans of all ages expressing excitement for products related to its iconic characters – particularly the Child,” said Kareem Daniel, president, Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing.
Because of the overwhelming popularity of this character, LEGO has created a new play set around it.
That LEGO set, along with other merchandise is being made available for pre-sale now ahead of the first Mando Monday. This is part of the kick-off promotion in sync with this week’s announcement.
The Mando Mondays will run along side the second season for 9 weeks.
